Iowa Film Office
The Iowa Film, Television and Video Promotion Program provided tax credits to productions who chose Iowa as the project location.
Projects processed under the Iowa Film, Television and Video Promotion Program for FY ’09 included:
- 75 — Registered projects, but not yet under contract
- 1 — Project withdrawn from program
- 3 — Registered projects completed and issued tax credit certificates
- 13 — Registered projects under contract
- 92 — Total Projects
Since the close of the fiscal year on June 30, 2009, several changes have taken place with the Iowa Film, Television and Video Promotion Program.
- The Program was suspended by the Governor on September 18, 2009.
- On November 23, 2009, Governor Chet Culver announced that he was partially lifting the suspension of the Iowa Film, Television, and Video Project Promotion Program with respect to registered film projects with contracts and registered film projects without contracts.
- No new film projects will be registered under the Film Program in FY ’10. The Legislature and the Governor are reviewing and reevaluating the program.
- The Iowa Film Office is in operation, providing information and technical assistance.
