Renewable Fuel Infrastructure Report for FY '09
The RFIP Board awarded 116 grants in FY`09 however; two of those grants were withdrawn
by the applicant after the awards were made. The ability to apply for tank
vehicles expired on 12/31/08.
Four E85 dispenser, four tank vehicle and two biodiesel terminal awards from FY`08
either expired or were withdrawn in FY`09 and those funds ($304,800) were return
to the RFIP fund. The RFIP fund ended the year with a balance of $3,871,826.40.
Almost all applications for an E85 dispenser, E85 blender dispenser and biodiesel
dispenser are requesting the 70% or $50,000, (whichever is the least), five year
contract.

For the second consecutive year the Iowa Motor Truck Association did not bring forth
a candidate to the Renewable Fuel Infrastructure (RFIP) Board. Governor Culver reappointed
Brian Wiegert, representing the insurers and Kenneth Pangburn, representing the
Iowa Farm bureau Federation to the RFIP Board. The RFIP functions with ten
board members. They are as follows:
