Dear Iowans,

I am pleased to announce the release of the 2010 Vision Iowa Annual Status Report. This year’s report is especially notable because funds allocated by the Vision Iowa Board in fiscal year 2010 were part of the I-JOBS Initiative.

The I-JOBS Program was initiated by my administration to improve the state’s infrastructure, retain and create jobs, and strengthen our economy to move Iowa forward. Specifically through the Vision Iowa Program, these funds will help revitalize Iowa’s communities large and small, while making needed investments in our economy.

I commend the Vision Iowa Board for allocating these funds to “shovel-ready” projects that will not only enhance the recreational, cultural, entertainment and educational opportunities in Iowa, but also promote community pride and confidence.

I have visited many of these projects to witness first hand Iowans partnering together to accomplish great things, and I look forward to visiting many of these very projects over the coming months.
