Waivers
Senate File 336, approved on April 24, 2009 by the Eighty-Third General Assembly,
gave the Vision Iowa Board the authority to waive any local or private matching
moneys required of an applicant, if the applicant was located in an area declared
a disaster area by the Governor or by a federal official. Waiver requests could
be accepted during the fiscal year starting July 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010.
A summary of the waiver requests and granted waivers is provided below:
National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library
Waiver request received: April 14, 2010 Request contained three components:
- The applicant requested that the Board waive the requirement limiting the project
funding to no more than 50% of state funds, including CAT funds. Waiver request
was approved on June 9, 2010.
- The applicant requested that the Board waive the requirement of local matching moneys
by the City of Cedar Rapids. Waiver request was denied June 9, 2010.
- The applicant requested that the Board waive the requirement of local matching moneys
by the Linn County Board of Supervisors. Waiver request was denied June 9, 2010.
City of Parkersburg
Waiver request received: June 29, 2010
The applicant requested that the Board waive the requirement of local matching moneys
by the City of Parkersburg. Waiver request was denied on August 11, 2010.
