Small Business Credit Initiative Programs

In 2011, the U.S. Department of the Treasury approved $13.2 million in funding to the state of Iowa through the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI). The SSBCI program, which supports state-level, small-business lending programs, is an important component of the Small Business Jobs Act that President Obama signed into law in September 2010.

Iowa's planned use of the SSBCI funds will help create new private sector jobs and spur more than $132 million in additional small-businesses lending in the state. The Iowa Economic Development Authority will use these funds to support the following programs:
