International Trade
The International Trade Office assists Iowa companies in devleoping or expanding international markets for their products and/or services.
Iowa exports to 186 countries throughout the world. During FY '10, Iowa exported more than $9.78 billion in manufactured and value-added goods. Iowa’s leading manufactured export category is machinery, which accounted for more than $1.8 billion of the state’s exports of manufactures in FY '10. The machinery category includes agricultural machinery, construction machinery, appliances, food processing equipment and industrial machinery, etc.


Export Trade Assistance Program (ETAP)
The ETAP program provides assistance to Iowa’s small-medium manufacturers and processors to enter new markets outside the United States.
23 Contracts were signed with ETAP
**Note: ETAP funding was suspended in December of 2009 due to budget constraints. Therefore the number of grants and reporting figures are only for a 6 month period.
These companies reported results of more than $4.2 billion in generated sales.
