Petition Approval

The process followed by the Board in acting on boundary change petitions is described in the Code and in the Board's administrative rules. In general, approval of a petition depends upon:

• The public's interest.
• Consistency with sound planning principles.
• The need for public services and population trends of the area.
• The city’s ability to provide services.
