Application Process for Housing Fund
The housing fund is allocated through a competitive application process. Program
staff reviews applications on an annual basis and negotiates the terms of project
funding. HOME funds coupled with a 25 percent CDBG Housing Set-aside will total
an estimated $15 million available through the Housing Fund annually. Applications
are generally due in January. Application workshops are held via the Iowa Communications
Network.
The Housing Fund application requires the following information:
- An explanation of the proposed project's purpose and how it addresses
one or more of the federal objectives of the HOME and CDBG programs.
- A description of the proposed project, including a financial summary,
general identification of type of clients to be served, a feasibility analysis (time
frame cost administrative structure), and a needs assessment or housing market analysis
for the project area
- Certifications of compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Specific information relating directly to the type of activity.
