Small Business Relief Grant Program & Tax Deferral

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE & TAX DEFERRAL FOR BUSINESSES AFFECTED BY COVID-19

On March 23, Governor Reynolds announced the launch of a new Iowa Small Business Relief Program to provide financial assistance to small businesses economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program offers grants ranging from $5,000-$25,000, in addition to offering a deferral of sales and use or withholding taxes due and waiver of penalty and interest to eligible businesses. 
 

Iowa Small Business Relief Grant

The application period for the Small Business Relief Grant is closed as of noon (12 p.m.), March 31, 2020. Applications are currently being reviewed and award decisions are expected to be made within two weeks. Applicants will be notified of award decisions via email. 
 

Iowa Business Tax Deferral

The application for deferral of the eligible taxes and waiver of penalty and interest remains open.

  • Must be experiencing business disruption due to COVID-19 pandemic

How to Apply

NOTE: This application is ONLY for the Iowa Business Tax Deferral. The Small Business Relief Grant application period has closed.

Due to the anticipated volume of applications, staff will work diligently to review and respond to requests. A complete application is not a guarantee of financial assistance or tax deferral.
