Export Compliance and Tariff Classification

IEDA's International Trade Office, ISU's CIRAS and the Greater Des Moines Partnership are hosting in-person international export training seminars. The first day (May 7) will cover export compliance and tariff classification, with the second day (May 8) expanding to cover more advanced topics in export documentation and procedures. The program will cover:

  • Comprehensive training covering all areas of export compliance
  • What an exporter needs to know to be compliant
  • Controls under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Tariff classification under the U.S. Harmonized System
  • Proper filing of an EEI (electronic export information)
  • Responsibilities of exporter under the concept of due diligence
  • Lists to check, red flags, control agencies
  • Important definitions
  • Changes under export control reform
The trainings will be presented by Bob Imbriani, an expert in international transportation and logistics. He is currently Executive Vice President, International for Team Worldwide and President of Team Ocean Services for Team Worldwide, Ltd. and Team International Trade Services.

Both classes are in-person only and there is limited capacity for each training. Participants may register for one or both through the registration link.
