Agri-Industrial Plastics Featured by the Associated Press

February 11, 2014

As the U.S. economy continues to strengthen, one Iowa manufacturing company is making national news as it excels through challenging economic times. Fairfield-based Agri-Industrial Plastics was recently featured in an Associated Press article on the state of the U.S. economy.

Although the article reports many industries have cut jobs in recent months, some manufacturing and construction firms, such as Agri-Industrial Plastics, are thriving. In the article, Agri-Industrial Plastics CEO Lori Schaefer-Weaton highlights the company’s optimistic outlook for 2014 sales and hiring.

Agri-Industrial Plastics is a leading industrial plastic products manufacturer specializing in custom blow molding and fuel tanks systems used on a variety of equipment in industries including agriculture, construction, medical, athletics, furniture and many more.

What began in a small warehouse 35 years ago has since grown into a state-of-the-art company that serves customers ranging from entrepreneurs to Fortune 100 companies. Agri-Industrial Plastics is one of many cutting-edge advanced manufacturing companies based in Iowa.

In fact, Iowa’s advanced manufacturing industry is the state’s largest sector, bringing in three times more than corn, soybeans, pigs and eggs.

The $27.6 billion industry ranks 6th in the nation in percentage of GDP and represents approximately 19 percent of Iowa’s GDP. Thanks to a low cost of doing business and highly skilled workforce, we believe Iowa’s advanced manufacturing industry and innovative advanced manufacturing companies will continue to make news on a national scale.
