Two million and counting

December 17, 2013

The Des Moines International Airport saw a 5.6 percent increase in passengers during the first 11 months of 2013 vs. 2012, reaching 2.02 million reports the Des Moines Business Record. While cargo numbers are down for 2013, Des Moines and other regional airports in Iowa play an important import/export role for major Midwest companies, due to lower airport landing fees and taxes. With solid rail, interstate and highway infrastructure throughout the state, cargo can easily be flown in and shipped to businesses, customers and suppliers throughout the U.S. Infographic_AirCargo
