Cedar Rapids tops “Best Place for Children” in U.S. list

With outstanding schools and high economic mobility, Cedar Rapids is the best place for children in the U.S. in 2017, according to a new analysis. It’s the fourth year in a row Cedar Rapids has topped the list, compiled by SmartAsset. The publication writes, “Cedar Rapids area has some of the best schools and highest-performing students in the country.”

Overall, the ranking shows the state of Iowa is one of the best states in the country for children, with four metro areas in the top 25. In addition to Cedar Rapids, Des Moines-West Des Moines ranked fourth in the list, Omaha (Neb.)-Council Blufs (Ia.) ranked seventh and Davenport (Ia.)-Moline-Rock Island (Ill.) ranked fifteenth.
