Vision Iowa Board Leverages $12 Million in Grants to $70 Million of Investment

 

March 4, 2011 (Des Moines) – In 2010 the Vision Iowa Board directly leveraged $12,538,687 in awards into $70,359,356 of investment in Iowa over the next two years.

 

The Board funded 53 projects through the Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT), River Enhancement Community Attraction and Tourism (RECAT) and CAT Marketing programs.

 

A breakdown by program for calendar year 2010:

 

CAT

-       18 projects

-       Award amount: $8,703,300

-       Total Investment: $51,223,193

 

RECAT

-       4 projects

-       Award amount: $3,588,000

-       Total Investment: $18,573,089

 

CAT Marketing

-       31 projects

-       Awarded: $247,383

-       Total Investment: $563,254

 

The Vision Iowa Board is proud of its investment in 94 counties and 231 communities to date,” said Regenia Bailey, Vision Iowa Board Chairwoman. “It is wonderful to travel the state and see projects we’ve invested in become vital parts of their communities.”

 

Last year, the Vision Iowa Board held meetings in eight funded projects including the Saints Center for Culture and Arts in Stuart, the Wilson Performing Arts Center in Red Oak, the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center, and Theatre Cedar Rapids.
