Audubon Recreation Foundation receives $410,000 CAT Grant 
July 8, 2015 (Des Moines) – The Vision Iowa Board awarded a $410,000 Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grant for the construction of a recreation center in Audubon. The grant was approved by the Vision Iowa Board at today's meeting in Des Moines.
The following project was approved:
Audubon Recreation Center, Audubon
Total Project Cost: $2,050,000
Amount Requested: $410,000
Amount Awarded: $410,000
Award Contingency: Completion of fundraising within 60 days.
Project Description: This project includes the construction of a recreation center that will contain racquetball courts, an eight-lane bowling alley, batting cage, one-on-one basketball court, kids’ play area, arcade, community room, walking track, restaurant and bar.

The Vision Iowa Program provides financial incentives to communities for the construction of recreational, cultural, educational or entertainment facilities that enhance the quality of life in Iowa. Currently, 404 CAT awards have been granted by the board, totaling $152,603,006. The next Vision Iowa Board meeting is tentatively scheduled for August 12, 2015, in Des Moines.
