State of Iowa to hold statewide Iowa Energy Plan Public Forums

March 22, 2016 (DES MOINES, IA) – Six public forums have been scheduled in late March and April to provide information on the Iowa Energy Plan development process and to obtain suggestions and feedback from interested stakeholders.

The statewide energy plan is being built based on four foundational pillars: Economic Development and Energy Careers, Iowa’s Energy Resources, Transportation and Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency and Conservation. Working groups have been formed around these areas to provide input, review data and help shape the goals and strategies of the energy plan.

The development of the Iowa Energy Plan is intended to be an open, transparent, and collaborative process that leverages input and insight from business leaders, energy innovators and members of the public.  In an effort to accomplish this and to ensure that the plan incorporates a statewide perspective, six public forums will be held around the state.

The forums will follow an open house format with project team members available for one-on-one and group discussions. Each session will include an informational presentation.  Iowans are encouraged to attend the public forums, meet the plan development team, and provide thoughts and opinions on the future of energy for Iowa.
