2020 – 2024 Consolidated Plan for Housing & Community Development
Public Hearing to gather input on the State’s housing and community development needs

The Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Iowa Finance Authority announces a public hearing as part of a larger effort to gather input on the State’s housing and community development needs as part of the 2020 – 2024 Consolidated Plan for Housing & Community Development.  Once completed the report will detail the housing and community development plans for the 2020 – 2024 program years with funds provided to the State of Iowa by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The programs covered include: Community Development Block Grant Nonentitlement (CDBG) Program, HOME Investment Partnership Act, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), Federal Housing Trust Fund (HTF) and the Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program. 

The public hearing will be held at 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1st in the Northwest 1st floor conference room at 200 East Grand Ave. in Des Moines. The public is encouraged to attend.   Comments will also be accepted through 5:00 on August 1st by contacting: Leslie Leager, IEDA, 200 East Grand, Des Moines, IA  50309, (515.348.6206) or by e-mail at leslie.leager@iowaeda.com

Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development
2018 Annual Performance Report
The Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Iowa Finance Authority have completed the 2018 Annual Performance Report for Housing and Community Development.  The report details the housing and community development activities for the 2018 program year with funds provided to the state of Iowa by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  The programs covered include:  Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Act, Federal Housing Trust Fund (HTF),  the Emergency Shelter Grants Program (ESPG), and the Housing Opportunities of Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program.


2019 Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing

Every five years, IEDA and the Iowa Finance Authority collaborate to prepare an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing.   The state of Iowa is required by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as a condition of receiving HUD funding, including CDBG and HOME funds.  This document identifies impediments to fair housing identified in Iowa and the state’s goals and strategies for addressing impediments.
