$26,000 CAT grant awarded to Clarksville

March 8, 2017 (Des Moines) – The Enhance Iowa Board awarded a $26,000 Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grant to a splash pad project in Clarksville at today’s meeting in West Des Moines.

The following project was approved for a grant awarded from the Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) Fund:

Clarksville Splashpad
Total Project Cost: $139,490
Amount Requested: $30,000
Amount Awarded: $26,000
Project Description: This project includes the construction of a handicap accessible splash pad with a bollard activator, ground geyser, spray cannon, aqua dome and other features.

The Enhance Iowa Program provides financial incentives to communities for the construction of recreational, cultural, educational or entertainment facilities that enhance the quality of life in Iowa. To date, nine CAT awards have been granted by the board, totaling $3,168,481. The next Enhance Iowa Board meeting is scheduled for April 12, 2017, in Waverly.
