Executive Assistant

The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), located in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a qualified candidate to join its team as our Executive Assistant.

This position will provide administrative and scheduling support for the Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority / Iowa Finance Authority. This is a General administrative support to the Director

General Duties:

  • Receiving/screening visitors and communications
  • Providing information and responding to questions and complaints and other correspondence from citizens, media and the legislature
  • Directing questions, comments, and correspondence to the appropriate area of expertise within the organization
  • Preparing correspondence and reports, including confidential/sensitive material
  • Maintaining the Director’s schedule, including appointments, public appearances
  • Maintaining and organizing local, national and international travel for the Director
  • Transporting the Director to meetings in the Des Moines area using a state vehicle

Human Resources Assistant

The Iowa Finance Authority is searching for an outstanding, motivated professional to join our team as our HRA (Human Resources Assistant).

The HR Assistant is responsible for providing support to the HR (Human Resource) Director. The HR Assistant will assist the HR Director in administering the administrative functions of the human resources department for both the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) and the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA).

General Duties:

  • Ensure that HR functions are delivered and applied consistently and in accordance with DAS, IEDA, and IFA rules, policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreements
  • Responsible for administration of employment changes, including entering personnel actions into the State of Iowa’s Human Resource Information System and the agency HR system
  • Maintains employee files and ensures confidentiality of information and that files and information are retained and maintained in accordance with state and federal requirements
  • Maintains performance evaluation and training schedules
  • Posts positions for IEDA/IFA
  • Serves as Training Liaison for IEDA/IFA
  • Assists in the recruitment and hiring processes for IEDA/IFA
